Live-aboard
|
This is the ultimate diving
vacation: pure sunshine, salt water and diving. This is the place where you do
not have to think about anything else than diving, eating and sleeping. The
biggest challenge will be how to describe and have place for everything you saw
in your logbook. We arrange short distance safaris (3 days, 2 nights) with a smaller boat for groups of 7 persons or more and long distance safaris (6 to 14 days, 5 to 13 nights) with a bigger boat for groups of 10 persons of more. But even if you are on your own or with a friend, do not hesitate contact us! Tell us what kind of safari you are interested in and we will tell you when there is one and try to arrange room on the boat for you. The price for diving safari on a live-aboard boat includes tanks and weights, a plentiful breakfast, dinner and cola or water with the food. The boat crew sells lunch and other drinks. Here are some examples of what kind of live-aboard safaris we can organize for you. |

The Brothers are a pair of tiny islands, the exposed tips of two massive reef pillars that rise from the abyssal depths. They are the only significant reefs in the area, and as such act as a magnet for any pelagic and reef fishes. Washed as they are by the full force of open-sea currents, they support an incredible dense and diverse coral population, with almost overwhelmingly profuse soft coral growth on all sides.
Elphinstone
is a long, finger-like reef that runs from north to south in the open Red Sea.
Steep walls drop to the depths on the reef’s east and west sides, reaching 70m
(230ft) or more, while the north and south ends of the reef are marked by
submerged plateau. The northern plateau is very shallow, offering some superb
snorkeling possibilities. The southern plateau is much deeper, with a drop-off
at 30m (100ft) leading down to the depths.
Coral
coverage is dense and magnificent, with a full range of hard and soft corals on
all sides. The east side in particular has some beautiful soft coral growth.
A
massive number of reef species lends still more color to the already dazzling
walls, with a ready supply of big solitary and schooling pelagics to observe.
One great hammerhead seems to be a permanent resident.
This is an endlessly fascinating site, worth diving any number of times, both by snorkellers and by the more advanced diver.

Deep south, 6 days
or more
This
is every divers wet dream! We will take you by bus to Marsa Alam and from there
by live-aboard close to the Sudanese boarder.
Here, in the Deep South, you find diving sites like St.
John’s reef, Zabargad and Rocky Island. Pure paradise according to most dive
guides. This is for example how Guy Buckles describes the Deep South in the
"
Zabargad
and Rocky Island, almost a holy grail of Egyptian offshore diving with
their sheer walls and coral gardens. But there are hundreds of lesser-known
reefs here that far surpass the best of the northern Red Sea, and they form part
of the thrill of exploring the Deep South's unknown reefs and seeing sights that
few divers will ever see."
Marine
Life
| The
deep south has always had a reputation for sharks, but big schools of snapper,
surgeons, bizarre longnosed unicorns and a host of others are a feature on most
reefs, and the schooling predators such as barracuda and trevally are so common
here as to be quite unremarkable.
On
the reef, the colorful profusion of lively reef fishes almost defies
description. Giant grouper swim head to tail with huge Napoleon wrasse,
blue triggerfish appear in their hundreds and angelfish of every conceivable
type play tag with butterflyfish and damsels. Elegant lionfish,
prehistoric scorpionfish and eels as thick as telephone poles abound. The Reefs of the Deep South are brimming with vibrant
coral growth, with a density and pristine quality unseen in the north.
